Internal Audit Function

Riara’s Internal Audit provides an independent and objective assurance and consulting activity that is guided by a philosophy of adding value to improve the operations of the Riara Group of Schools (RGS). This is achieved through a systematic and disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of the RGS's governance, risk management, internal control.

Internal audit evaluates the systems put in place to manage and control the schools’ operations, assessing and monitoring the risks that the schools face and provide appropriate risk mitigation recommendations and advice to management. This helps RGS to:

• Effectively and appropriately manage risks
• Make quality management decisions from audit insights
• Ensure resources are effectively, efficiently and economically used
• Protect assets against theft and misuse
• Ensure compliance with internal (policies and procedures) and external
regulations (such as status and laws)
